In Having Hope I Believe in Jesus
I am going to start like this: What is Hope? Well, in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it states: The word Hope: to cherish a desire with anticipation; to want something to happen or be true; hopes for a promotion; hoping for the best; and I hope so. Archaic: Trust and Reliance.
Hope from the dictionary is just a word. Some people do not realize what a blessing it can be to have it in their lives. Because in all things there is hope, like the new job that you just got, like that great feeling of having a newborn baby, at least the first, that brand new car you just bought; it might be used, but it sure is new to you, and the list goes on.
For me, the word Hope is seen differently. Because hope means caring about other people's lives, watching how they live. Don't get me wrong, I like to see if they have learned anything from me as they got to know me, as I see things people have choices to make on how they want to live. Sometimes, to have Hope in our lives. It is truly all we need.
Like I said, in the dictionary, the word Hope has a very good definition. But to me, it was not God's definition of what hope means to him and His Son Jesus. So, I went to find out what the word Hope means to them. Well, here is what I found:
In the Holy Bible, in Proverbs, chapter 10, verse 28 states: The Hope of the righteous shall be gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. It also states about Hope: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Father, which is our Hope. Also, in Proverbs chapter 10 verse 28: The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. And in this same bible 1st Timothy chapter 1 verse 1, it states: This letter is from Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus appointed by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus, who gives us Hope.
In all that we do and hope for, shouldn't we have hope that it will happen? What we hope for is that. For me, I have hope in God and Jesus Christ. For I believe that is where my hope comes from.
In closing, I want to say this: I hope that I did not offend anyone with this post.
Hope is not just a word in the dictionary. It is a word of faith. Because you can use hope to try to get the things you wish for on earth. Then why could you not use it for the things you want that are waiting for you in Heaven? I do! I will not tell you how you should see hope, but I can tell you this: God and his son, my Lord Jesus, have taught me that hope is a part of everything that I do or hope for.
So, can you think about hope, try to believe in God and his son Jesus Christ, and see how much hope you can truly have? Thank you, and God bless you and your family.
